Stipa lessingiana (Lessing's Feather Grass)
Hardy and perennial, this grass resembles the well known Stipa tenuissima, but is a bit larger at 100cms x 50cms, and a bit more robust.
Hardiness level Green
The foliage is fine and green and the flower heads wispy with the whole clump turning a pale brown in the winter.
Position: Best in full sun on any well drained soil but sheltered from the cold northerly winds. Tidy the clumps and cut back in early spring before the new spring growth begins.
