A pretty and compact evergreen shrub for border or container. It can grow to 150 x 100cms but responds well to a light prune.
Hardiness level Amber
A pretty and compact evergreen shrub for border or container. In spring the new leaves have splodgy yellow centres, maturing to green and carry lightly scented browny purple little flowers. It can grow to 150 x 100cms but responds well to a light prune.
Good in sun, (for the best colour) to parital shade in most aspects, in a sheltered position out of the cold winds. Happy in most soils in moist but well drained conditions.
N.B. When clipping several plants with the same tool, have a bucket containing a 5% bleach solution and swish your blades around for 30 seconds between plants to sterilise them. This will help avoid the chance of cross contamination of disease.
As with all woody plants, plant high, exposing as much of the taper at the base of the trunk as possible. Allowing soil to accumulate round the base of a tree can be fatal. Keep very well watered when first planted.
