Hydrangea paniculata ‘Skyfall’ syn. ‘Frenne’
Hardiness level Green
This is a large, hardy, deciduous shrub, which can grow to 120cm x 70cm. In the late summer and early autumn, cream conical flower-spikes develop that age into soft pinks. Mulch the base in spring.
Happy in moist but well-drained soils, in sun to dapple shade out of the cold winds. It flowers on current year's wood, so in autumn, reduce the stems to prevent wind rock, then prune to a few buds in early spring. Propagated by cuttings.
