Lovely cones, well-balanced pyramids and floating cubes, it’s all about shape, impact and commanding forms.
Lovely cones, well-balanced pyramids and floating cubes, it’s all about shape, impact and commanding forms. These Fagus sylvatica have all the qualities you want to add structure and gravity to a garden design, especially for a more formal composition but are equally comfortable in more naturalistic settings. Evergreen and interesting year-round with bright apple-green leaves in the spring that darken in the summer before turning golden and orange in autumn. The leaves can be retained over the winter not falling until the new growth emerges the following spring. Any soil and any aspect, plonk them where you will but avoid heavily soggy spots.
