Deschampsia cespitosa (Tufted Hair Grass or Tussock Grass)
Hardiness level Green
A hardy, perennial evergreen grass with rough feeling blades. The fountain shaped clumps carry masses of airy, silvery fluffy seedheads in the summer. These fade to a bronzy brown persisting well into the winter.
This grass is happy in any soil, but is particularly good on poorly drained soils, growing in both meadows and woodland glades. Propagated by seed.
