Anemanthele lessoniana
This used to be called Stipa arundinacea and is like a slightly larger version of its better known relative – Stipa tenuissima. Amy – our resident grass expert – thinks that Stipa tenuissima is for the sea side but this is more suitable for inland cottage gardens.
From New Zealand. Like most grasses – any reasonably well drained soil and plenty of light.
They are comparatively short lived grasses and will last around 3-5 years. They have a similar life span to Lavenders.
