Deciduous
Once reconciled with the inevitable fact that deciduous plants will lose foliage during their dormancy period, you will have more than enough time to relish their various transitions and moments of pure gloriousness. Vital for adding colour and structural variation to your garden they are a multifaceted group of plants. We have one of the broadest collections of Acers (Maples) in the country, with delicately feathered leaf shapes, and an array of iridescent and softer colours. There’s also the anticipation and reward of emerging and popping buds in Spring. We are obsessed with the architectural merits of deciduous plants, too. Multi-stems or raised umbrella shapes will add dramatic form to your garden all year round. Deciduous types of trained Niwaki such as our Dwarf Elm are almost more perfect without their foliage.
