Chelsea Flower Show 2025: The Plan

From Monday 19th to Saturday 24th May 2025 we are exhibiting at the RHS Chelsea Flower show, within the Great Pavilion, stand number GPE068.

Last Minute Plans

Last year we took a very last minute trade stand place, with 6 weeks to plan, it was a big achievement just to get there. We built our AP hunters hut and demonstrated an AP designed garden featuring copper planters and a Buxus replacement blobbery. It was all about shape and form. It was a great event and we met many new and existing customers. Architectural Plants is not a classic fit for Chelsea.

A Legacy of Innovation

Angus established the business in 1990 and the intention was to do things differently. He was a maverick. He set the foundations for us, a culture of horticulturalists that see things differently – challenging the way plants are growntrained and cared for. In the last 10 years I have run the business and more than ever we stick to these principles. You can always spot a garden that has our plants in or that has been designed by us – they have style & structure and are heavily plant focused.

Our Chelsea 2024 Garden

Over the years we have supplied many show gardens such as The Bridgerton Garden and trade stands such as John O’Connor Sculpture but we have never exhibited as a grower in the Great Pavilion. We are proud to call ourselves ‘Growers’. Lots of nurseries purchase plants grown in Europe, often as plug plants and then they pot them on and say they are UK grown after 6 months. That’s not what we believe is a true homegrown plant and not what we do. We have our own Laboratory, Fog & Mist house, Liner house and Sand bed and a lot of specialist equipment that allows us to grow tens of thousands of plants annually. We are a site of horticultural excellence and we are going to celebrate the work we do and the great team that we have. We will also showcase plants and trees from some of our excellent grower suppliers.

Sneak preview of the plans so far:

In true hands on AP style we forklifted pots, wood and plants to mock up the space.

Amy (Senior Garden Designer) and I have designed the garden. It is a celebration of AP HomegrownHomegrown talent through our AP Homegrown apprenticeship scheme and the stand will feature many of our homegrown plants.

Designers Guy & Amy

The garden will feature the same Plant Hunters Hut from last year with some new additions. We have sourced Sussex Oak, nicely weathered – to use for the surrounding edge.

We will share some sneak peaks on our socials, so follow us on our expedition to Chelsea.

Some very talented metal fabricators from Sussex are building our path and hut deck – this is an exciting new addition for this year. This approach creates a more cohesive, flowing garden where people meander through the space.
