Ilex crenata ‘Niwaki’ (Japanese Holly)

Ilex crenata ‘Niwaki‘ is an excellent choice for hotel entrances, especially when displayed in pots. Planted in large containers, these topiaries can frame entrances beautifully while being easy to move or reposition. As an evergreen, these plants provide year-round beauty, ensuring that your hotel entrance remains inviting in all seasons.

Ilex crenata ‘Niwaki‘ can be pruned into striking topiary forms, offering a sophisticated and elegant look. This sculptural quality creates a grand and refined aesthetic, perfect for making a strong first impression at your hotel entrance.

Taxus baccata (Yew)– Topiary

Taxus baccata is an excellent choice for hotel entrances due to its timeless elegance and versatility. Known for its dense, dark green foliage, Taxus can be shaped into various topiary forms, such as spirals, cones, or formal hedging, adding a sophisticated and tailored look to any entrance. Its evergreen nature ensures year-round appeal, creating a welcoming atmosphere no matter the season. Yew is highly resilient, withstanding harsh weather conditions and requiring minimal maintenance, making it ideal for the high-traffic environment of a hotel. Planted in containers or flanking doorways, Taxus baccata topiary provides a striking, luxurious first impression for guests.

Strelitzia reginae (Bird of Paradise)

Slow growing exotic that does well in a pot indoors. Exotic leaves and insane flower spikes, a very impressive plant. Great for a warm marquee in the summer. Water it sparingly in the winter months and make sure it is ventilated. In our opinion, also a very useful structural, upright plant.

Liquidambar styraciflua (Sweet Gum) – Panels

A stunning columnar tree, growing to 12 metres x 3 metres over 20 years. It has fresh green and deeply lobed summer leaves which are a bit like a maple, quite finely textured, that become a brilliant orange to purplish red in autumn.

This tree has an especially powerful architectural shape which we adore, and as it’s so versatile we can always find a place for this tree (or several). Imagine stately rows flanking your hotel driveway in symmetrical ranks, saluting a welcome as you pass, or a pair standing sentinel at the sweeping edge of your crisp grounds. You can also use the narrow columns to introduce height to a broader palette of other pleasing and playful shapes like crisply clipped shrubs and mounds of cloudlike evergreens.
